The Essential Nadi Day Tour
If you're spending time in or near Nadi — Fiji's main gateway city — the full day sightseeing tour covers everything worth seeing in a single efficient, guided day. It is the most logical first tour for any Fiji visitor, and at 40% off the regular price, it is also one of the best value experiences on the island.
The four main stops — the Hindu temple, the mud pools, the orchid garden, and the village — represent the full breadth of what Nadi offers: religious architecture, geothermal activity, natural beauty, and authentic Fijian culture. None of them are easily accessible independently without a car, and all benefit significantly from having a local guide who can provide context and stories.
40% off: This tour is currently priced at AU$108 per person (regular AU$180) at tourfijitours.com — all entry fees included, with free hotel transfers from Nadi and Denarau.
Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple
The Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple in Nadi is the largest Hindu temple in the Southern Hemisphere. Its exterior is painted in vivid colours — pinks, blues, greens, and golds — depicting scenes from Hindu mythology in extraordinary detail. The architecture follows Dravidian temple style, with a towering gopuram (gateway tower) visible from a distance.
The temple is an active place of worship and visitors are welcome, though dress code is strictly enforced: shoulders and knees must be covered, and shoes must be removed before entering. Your guide will walk you through the main shrine areas and explain the significance of the deity (Lord Muruga) to whom the temple is dedicated, and the role of Fiji's significant Indo-Fijian community in the country's cultural life.
Sabeto Mud Pools & Hot Springs
The Sabeto Mud Pools are one of Fiji's most unusual and delightful experiences. At the base of the Sleeping Giant mountain range, geothermal activity produces warm mud pools and naturally heated spring pools. The mud is rich in minerals and reputedly good for the skin — most visitors coat themselves thoroughly and then rinse in the hot spring pools. It sounds odd; it is genuinely fun.
The pools are maintained by a local family and the experience feels low-key and authentic rather than commercial. Your guide manages the transition between mud and springs. Wear a swimsuit you don't mind getting discoloured (the mud stains temporarily). There are basic changing facilities on site.
Garden of the Sleeping Giant
The Garden of the Sleeping Giant sits in the shadow of the Koroyanitu Range (known as the "Sleeping Giant" for the mountain's profile when viewed from the right angle). Originally developed by the late American actor Raymond Burr as a private orchid collection, the garden now contains over 2,000 orchid varieties alongside tropical plants, lily ponds, and rainforest walkways.
It is a genuinely beautiful place — peaceful, shaded, and full of extraordinary plant life. The orchids are the centrepiece, but the surrounding jungle gardens are equally impressive. Allow 45–60 minutes to explore properly.
Tips for the Nadi Full Day Tour
- Bring modest clothing for the temple visit — covered shoulders and knees are mandatory.
- Bring an old swimsuit for the mud pools. The mud can stain fabrics.
- The tour runs daily. Book at least 24 hours in advance for transfers to be arranged.
- Entry fees for all four sites are included in the AU$108 price — there is nothing additional to pay unless you want to purchase crafts or food at the market.
